Information Management in GEDSI Hub at GWSC, AIT

The Gender Equity, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) Hub at the Global Water & Sanitation Center (GWSC), housed within the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), promotes inclusive, people-centered approaches in Water, and Sanitation initiatives across Asia and beyond. The Hub focuses on upholding the principle of LNOB (Leaving No One Behind) by prioritizing underserved communities such as children, youth, elderly, persons with disabilities, SOGEISC (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression, and Sex Characteristics), women and girls, financially weak and marginalized populations.

Position Overview

The Student Assistant will provide support to the GWSC GEDSI Hub in various technical and creative tasks, contributing to ongoing WASH projects, events, and communications. This role involves a variety of tasks, from content creation to event coordination, and is well-suited for a student interested in working on inclusive development issues.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Proposal & Writing Support: Contribute to research, drafting, and editing of proposals, reports, and success stories that communicate GWSC’s work effectively.
  2. Media and Communication: Develop and edit news articles and feature stories to enhance GWSC’s visibility and outreach.
  3. Visual & Digital Content Development: Design infographics, visuals, and multimedia materials for social media, campaigns, and advocacy initiatives.
  4. Event & Campaign Coordination: Assist in organizing, promoting, and documenting events, workshops, and awareness campaigns.
  5. Web & Social Media Management: Maintain and update GWSC’s website and social media platforms with timely, engaging content.
  6. Team and Administrative Support: Provide coordination, documentation, and logistical assistance to ensure smooth project and event implementation.
  7. Other relevant activities as assigned.

Qualification

Qualification

  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s program (preferably in Development Studies, or related fields).
  • Experience or strong interest in proposal writing, media and communications, event coordination, or visual storytelling.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, InDesign).
  • Familiarity with social media management tools (e.g., Canva, Buffer, Meta Business Suite) is an advantage.
  • Excellent English writing and editing skills; knowledge of another Asian language is a plus.
  • Understanding of WASH, Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) principles.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and interpersonal skills, with a proactive and solution-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines with professionalism and composure.
  • Positive mindset and emotional resilience, with openness to feedback and a collaborative, non-complaining work ethic.
  • Enthusiastic, creative, and eager to learn in a diverse, fast-paced, and multidisciplinary environment.
