Job Description

 

ToR – PhD Student Assistant (Clean Air Hub Project)

The PhD Student Assistant will work specifically on the Clean Air Hub initiative, supporting the development of its data, analysis, and communication components, including the creation of regional data management platform and knowledge products related to air quality management.

To support project implementation, a PhD Student Assistant is required to assist with technical, analytical, and administrative tasks under the supervision of the project supervisor.

1) Scope of Work

The PhD Student Assistant will carry out the following tasks:

a) Data Collection and Management

• Compile and manage datasets relevant to the Clean Air Hub (e.g., air quality monitoring data, meteorological data, emission data, policy information).

• Ensure data quality control, documentation, and version management.

b) Technical and Analytical Support

• Conduct advanced data analysis, including statistical analysis, trend assessment, and visualization.

• Support the design and develop dashboards, or analytical workflows for the Clean Air Hub.

c) Documentation and Reporting

• Draft technical notes and reports based on projects and Clean Air Hub activities.

• Contribute to Clean Air Hub knowledge products (e.g., briefs, web content, training materials).

d) Other Tasks

• Perform other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor to support successful implementation of the Clean Air Hub and related air quality management activities.

Qualification

2) Qualifications

  1. Currently enrolled PhD student in the Environmental Engineering and Management Program at AIT.
  2. Demonstrated understanding of air pollution, air quality management, and environmental monitoring.
  3. Experience or strong interest in data analysis, modelling, and satellite monitoring related to air quality is an advantage.
