Job Description

Student Support and Communication

  • Respond to students' questions and provide clarification/ tutorials on course content, assignments and assessment expectations.
  • Maintain regular communication with students through appropriate communication channels.
  • Support in assessing students regularly in class or online and other administrative matters.
  • Identify recurring student concerns and communicate them to the Professor.

Course Administration

  • Assist the Professor in managing assignments, examinations, presentations and other course assessments.
  • Support the collection, organisation and maintenance of student submissions and assessment records.
  • Assist with marking or pre-assessment of student work as directed by the Professor with confidentiality and following academic standards.

​Field Visits and Observational Learning, Research and Academic Support

  • Assist the Professor in planning and coordinating field visits, site visits and other experiential learning activities.
  • Support student coordination, attendance, logistics and communication before and during field activities.
  • Provide on-site support to students and the Professor during field activities.
  • Contribute to the preparation of research papers, reports, presentations, conference materials or other academic outputs, as appropriate.

Learning Support and Other Administrative Support

  • Assist the Professor with preparation of lecture materials, presentations, readings, exercises and other learning resources.
  • Support students in accessing relevant academic resources and course materials.
  • Assist in creating an effective and inclusive learning environment.
  • Maintain organised records of course-related activities and communications.

Qualification

  • Current doctoral student in the Faculty of Public Policy and Sustainability Development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students from diverse academic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining regular coordination with the Professor.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly in managing assessments and student records.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace and relevant online learning platforms.
  • Demonstrated interest in teaching, research and academic activities.
