Job Description

 

General Support to the Technical Assistance Hub, GWSC, AIT

The Global Water & Sanitation Center (GWSC) promotes inclusive, people-centered approaches in Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) initiatives across Asia and beyond.  The Technical Hub (TA Hub) at GWSC is mainly engaged in providing technical advisory support to the governments, IFIs, and other development partners  in the planning, designing, scaling and implementation of water & sanitation projects in urban areas including Citywide Inclusive Sanitation (CWIS) in the region.

Position Overview 

The Student Assistant will provide supervised support to the TA Hub’s ongoing project, operational, information-management, and capacity development activities. 

Scope of work:

  1. Assist in developing, reviewing, and organizing knowledge products that reflect the TA Hub’s work.
  2. Support the preparation and organization of materials for capacity development programs.
  3. Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and other documents related to the TA Hub’s ongoing activities.
  4. Support the organization of project information, data, references, and working files.
  5. Assist with basic research, data review, mapping, and technical analysis when required for assigned activities.

Qualification

Qualification 

  • Currently enrolled in the Master of Engineering program in Water Engineering and Management at the Asian Institute of Technology.
  • Holds a B.Sc. Engineering Honours degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
  • Academic background in water and wastewater engineering, urban drainage and management, hydrology, water resources systems, and environmental engineering.
  • Experience in research and technical analysis using GIS and water-resources modelling tools, including ArcGIS, QGIS, and Delft3D.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Canva for preparing reports and presentations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
